This is the home of "The Green Lake Ice Yacht Club". Our club has a hundred year history of iceboating on Green Lake with our members participating in many of the different classes ranging from DN's, Skeeters, and Renegades, to Nites and Sternsteerers. This site is intended to facilitate communication within the club and with other iceboaters throughout the world. Remember you haven't iceboated till your runners have hit our ice.

Inlet Ice
This morning our dedicated ice condition chairman Todd Morgan spotted the first ice of the season on Green Lake's inlet. I was informed that it had skimmed over completely. Now, before everyone starts going nuts and freaking out, by noon today it had disappeared. We are going to keep an eye on it and keep everyone informed but generally this is usually the first ice we see in the area. This is a good sign that we are seeing this kind of progress prior to Thanksgiving.
OK now back to regular programming everyone can commence to freak out.
