1/24/11

Mike Jankowski and I went out and checked ice again today. There were a lot more gray patches then yesterday and the snow cover is actually very little with no drifts. However, the ice is by no means sail able yet. There still remains a slush issue in spots with the following; 3 inches of hard ice with 2 inches of very soft ice with another 3 inches of slush and a thin hard ice crust on top. If a runner hit this you would really drop down and stop pretty fast. We will have to continue and wait for the slush to freeze or for it to drain, it did not last week but hopefully it might this week.

We will be checking ice every few days.
