We now have ice on the middle section of Green Lake we are completely frozen over with the middle section just about damn perfect as I was told. The ice has not been checked by foot yet as it went over sometime last night. It will be checked by foot later on Saturday. I would not recommend sailing it at all. Our hope is that we have it scouted by the weekend and maybe test sailed on Sunday.
Hopefully we can kickoff the season finally.
This is the home of "The Green Lake Ice Yacht Club". Our club has a hundred year history of iceboating on Green Lake with our members participating in many of the different classes ranging from DN's, Skeeters, and Renegades, to Nites and Sternsteerers. This site is intended to facilitate communication within the club and with other iceboaters throughout the world. Remember you haven't iceboated till your runners have hit our ice.
