Merry Christmas

After a day of finishing up all the important things here is the latest ice report:

On the west end it is closed off with the North shore along Sugarloaf open into the middle of the lake. The ice went over sometime around early AM Monday so there is not much thickness but then again it was -10 and hit 2 by about noon. There was a substantial whore's frost sitting on top of this new ice probably just frost crystals. Then snow came in yesterday afternoon 1-2", light and fluffy.

On the East end of the lake it had opened up back to Horner's diagonal from Norton's. This ice is rather choppy as it was the first to freeze and then broke up and then refroze. At 2PM Christmas Eve I saw someone walking out towards the original ice about two hundred yards from the mouth of the bay. This has about 4-5 inches of snow on it and I have no idea how thick it is.  This is probably the worst of the ice surface wise but also the thickest ice.

As for the rest of the lake the middle of the lake was/is open as of this morning. No idea on when that will go over.

This is an UNOFFICIAL report compiled from three different people. None of the ice has been walked or inspected. I still think we are a while out. As soon as the Commodore or the Ice Checkers report in we will let everyone know what further conditions are.

Have a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!!
