I decided today was the day to try out the B sternsteerer and really see what the sails looked liked. Damn, nothing beats a new set of dacron sails on an 80 year old boat. I somehow talked my neighbor Jim McCabe a long time GLIYC member into going out with me. We trimmed hard and then figured we were really going fast. However after looking up at the main we noticed only 1/3 of the sail driving. Lets just say this go cart has a couple more gears then we ever knew.
What a ride, the ice was pretty good and the ice just seems to keep getting better. We will see what it looks like in the morning.
This is the home of "The Green Lake Ice Yacht Club". Our club has a hundred year history of iceboating on Green Lake with our members participating in many of the different classes ranging from DN's, Skeeters, and Renegades, to Nites and Sternsteerers. This site is intended to facilitate communication within the club and with other iceboaters throughout the world. Remember you haven't iceboated till your runners have hit our ice.
