A few of us have been hauling boats down to the landing today. All I can say is it is about 1 inch of semi-wet slush on top of hard ice. It dropped a bunch since yesterday and there is a bunch of gray peeking through. The wind report for Saturday is very light but Sunday should be great and we are all staging for it. The sternsteerer has a bunch of new parts it should be a fun day of almost sleeveless sailing. I think we have seven Nites on ice waiting to go.
Somebody tell Morgan and Vandervelde the ice is not going to last till June, but then again.
This is the home of "The Green Lake Ice Yacht Club". Our club has a hundred year history of iceboating on Green Lake with our members participating in many of the different classes ranging from DN's, Skeeters, and Renegades, to Nites and Sternsteerers. This site is intended to facilitate communication within the club and with other iceboaters throughout the world. Remember you haven't iceboated till your runners have hit our ice.
